Texas Sea Grant awards between eight and 12 research projects during each two-year funding cycle. The current cycle began in February 2010 and continues through the end of January 2012.
Researchers whose projects were funded during the previous cycle, including those that were interrupted by the landfall of Hurricane Ike on the Texas coast in 2008, are allowed a further year without additional funding to complete their research.
