Dr. Mona Behl is the Research Coordinator at Texas Sea Grant. She oversees the program’s research grant, scholarship and fellowship opportunities, and contributes to Texas Sea Grant’s state and federal reporting efforts.
Before joining Texas Sea Grant, she was a visiting fellow with the American Meteorological Society Policy Program in Washington D.C. and an adjunct professor with the American Public University, WV. Behl secured her Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from Florida State University, and her bachelor and master degrees in Physics (Honors) from the Center of Advanced Studies in Physics, Panjab University, India. For her professional dedication and innovative teaching skills, she was awarded the CV Raman Award by the Indian Physics Association for being among the top 4 teachers in the country.
Her research interests include air-sea interaction, thermohaline circulation and its role in global climate change, ocean policy, coastal restoration and management, decision making under uncertainty, climate change risk communication, mitigation and adaptation, water resources management, science policy and education.
