| The Texas Sea Grant Extension Program (SGEP) has traditionally operated under the banner of the Marine Advisory Service (MAS) and represents the principal outreach “arm” of the Texas Sea Grant College Program. Through the network of county extension marine agents and marine extension specialists, the SGEP/MAS program conducts extension education and outreach with coastal and marine stakeholders as well as the general public. Focusing on the areas of aquaculture; marine business; environmental quality; coastal communities development; marine fisheries; marine education; seafood safety, quality, marketing, and economics; ports and harbors and marine policy; the SGEP/MAS represents a major asset to leaders of government, industry and interest groups involved with coastal and marine issues as well as the public-at-large.
