About the Program...
     There is nothing static about the offshore oil and gas industry. History has shown us that change is the norm for the industry. Keeping up with industry developments in the midst of constant change is often a difficult, yet essential task. The Annual Marine/Offshore Industry Outlook Conference is designed to assist industry observers, managers and leaders by providing a three-year forecast of developments, trends and critical issues facing the marine/offshore industry. The conference will highlight domestic and international issues that will impact business planning and organizing efforts in the upcoming years.
     During the past ten years the marine/offshore industry has gone through a myriad of changes that have brought with them countless problems and constraints that spurred the need for innovative corporate and industry planning and organizing efforts. Our morning session will address legislative issues, developments in the Gulf of Mexico region and financial planning efforts of the offshore oil and gas industry.
     A group of recognized marine/offshore industry leaders will discuss the outlook for the following specific industry segments: offshore service and offshore drilling. Areas of impact will include equipment utilization, regulatory policy, personnel and training, financial constraints and problems, and technological developments.
     The luncheon program will focus on future exploration and development opportunities in the offshore oil and gas industry. The emphasis will be on identifying the offshore areas that will experience the most active development during the next two to three years. A brief review of current and proposed legislation impacting future exploration and development opportunities on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) will also be given during the opening session of the conference.
     Time will be provided for questions and answers after each session. Please use the space on the back of the registration form to submit your questions to speakers in advance. This gives the speakers the opportunity to review your question and develop a more comprehensive response.

Texas Sea Grant College Program
     The Texas Sea Grant Program is a partnership of university, government and industry, focusing on marine research, education and advisory service. The nationwide program is directed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Marine Advisory Service (MAS) is an extension program sponsored by Texas Sea Grant College Program, the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, and Participating County Commissioner’s Courts. MAS uses the educational and research capabilities of the University to help solve the problems of coastal communities and marine-related industries. Admission to Texas A&M University and any of its sponsored programs is open to qualified individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or educationally unrelated handicaps.
